What it's about

Albert Lewis, the rabbi of Mitch Albom's childhood, asked Albom to deliver his eulogy. To do it properly, Albom spent eight years visiting him. At the same time he got to know Henry Covington, a former drug dealer and convict who had become pastor of a struggling Detroit church with a hole in its roof. The book weaves the two men's stories into one about faith.

Why it's worth reading

It was a #1 New York Times bestseller. Like Tuesdays with Morrie, it's a gentle, warm book about what an older person can teach us, and it never preaches.
