What it's about

Harry Bosch has come back to the Los Angeles Police Department after retiring, and he's assigned to the cold-case unit with his old partner. Their first case is the 1988 murder of a sixteen-year-old girl, now linked by new DNA evidence to a white supremacist. But the more Bosch digs, the more he finds the case was covered up by people inside the department.

Why it's worth reading

It was a #1 New York Times bestseller. Connelly's Bosch novels are some of the best police procedurals ever written, and this is one of the strongest.

Critics and Bestseller are two ways to earn a place: a book's stronger one counts more. Buzz rewards recent bestseller weeks and prizes, so older books start at zero. The parts combine into the Must-Read Score, shown on a scale where the best book we found scores 99 and the last book to make the ranking scores 50.
